Application Process
To become a Baltic member you must first complete an application form. Membership of the Baltic is open to a wide range of companies and individuals involved in the bulk shipping markets.
Categories of membership:
- Principal – trading on your own account
- Broker – not trading on your own account, but arranging transactions
- Principal & Broker
- Other (ie ship managers or operators; media; lawyers; finance; insurance)
Details that may be required include a copy of your audited accounts; proof of insurance cover against claims for errors and omissions and for breach of warranty of authority (only applicable to broking applicants) and a proposal and secondment by an existing Baltic member.
All applications are checked and brought to our Membership Committee which is made up of four Baltic directors. This process takes around six weeks.
After this we will contact you to let you know if your application has been successful and welcome you into membership.
