The Baltic Exchange supports numerous charities through the Baltic Charitable Fund and Bono Krull Fund which make donations towards charitable activities relating to the sea, including training for professionals and children, the City of London, forces charities, educational bursaries and for sponsorship of charitable efforts made by Baltic Exchange members.
The Baltic Exchange provides assistance to its members and families who have fallen on hard times through the Baltic Exchange Charitable Society.
With assets of over £4 million, the Charitable Society can respond to requests from members with financial, health or other problems. Such help can only be provided to those who have joined the Society, and membership is open to all Baltic members, employees of Baltic member companies, and of companies engaged in the oilseeds trade.
Life membership costs £50 and an annual subscription is just £5. All those who qualify are urged to join the Society and support its work. We hope that members will not hesitate to contact the Society if they feel in need of help, or indeed if they know of a colleague who might be in difficulty. All communication will be treated with the strictest confidence.

2015 saw the launch of the David Bradley, an inshore lifeboat stationed at Lymington. Funds for this lifeboat were raised in memory of former Baltic Exchange employee David Bradley by Baltic members, friends and family.
