Recovering money for members

This free service collects monies owing on behalf of members for unpaid commissions, demurrage claims and arbitration awards that have not been honoured.  Defaulting companies are listed on www.balticexchange.com and are sent to members.

A regular programme of practical shipping courses is run by the Baltic for the tanker, dry cargo, sale and purchase and freight derivatives’ markets.  These take place in London as well as shipping centres around the world.

Sports clubs and Young Baltic Association 
A number of sports clubs exist for members and for those under 35 membership of the Young Baltic Association (YBA) is automatic.  The YBA encourages professional development and business contacts through various organised professional and social activities.  Regular sponsored “Baltic Broker Fridays” in the Baltic bar encourage further networking opportunities.

Baltic Charitable Society
Membership is open to any members of the Baltic and their employees and provides help for those who find themselves in financial difficulty.
