The Baltic Exchange Sailing Association’s annual Seaview Regatta returned to the Solent on 7–8 May 2026, bringing together leading shipping companies and maritime professionals for two days of competitive sailing and industry networking at the Sea View Yacht Club.

The regatta saw teams from across the shipping sectors compete in the club’s Mermaid fleet for the Warwick Cup.

This year’s edition attracted a broad cross-section of industry participants, including MOL, Fulmar, Baltic Exchange, Arrow Shipping & Trading, Windward Shipping, A.M. Nomikos, Howe Robinson Partners and Thurlestone Shipping, reinforcing the event’s role as a key fixture in the informal shipping calendar.

Racing commenced on Thursday afternoon after Southwestern Railways’ best attempt to scupper proceedings. The programme resumed early on Friday, with four additional races before the final prize-giving later in the afternoon.

Off the water, the regatta continued its strong tradition of industry networking. A formal three-course dinner on Thursday evening served as the centerpiece of the social programme, complemented by drinks on the race deck and an active late bar. In-excess of £700 was raised for the Baltic Salcombe Lifeboat fund and £150 donated to the Seaview Sailing Trust.

Competitors raced in identical Mermaid keelboats, placing the emphasis on teamwork, tactics and local knowledge. The Solent’s tidal flows and variable winds once again provided a challenging backdrop, producing closely fought racing across the fleet.

Congratulations to Arrow Shipping and Trading who got their hands on the Warwick Cup for the first time, with AM Nomikos in 2nd and Fulmar 1 in 3rd. (Full results below).

A massive thanks to the Baltic Exchange for their continued support. Thank you to all competitors for making the event an enormous success and lastly, thanks to the Sea View Yacht Club for hosting a great event.
