Contributor App — Signing In

 

This guide walks you through signing in to the Contributor app when you're asked for a one-time security code (Multi-Factor Authentication), and what to do if your email address hasn't been verified yet.

⚠  This guide is only for the Contributor app.

If you're a contributor or panellist submitting values to the Baltic Exchange, this is the right place. The Contributor app is used by a small group of contributors and uses a one-time code sent by email to verify your identity.

All other Baltic Exchange apps use a different MFA method (an Authenticator app or SMS text message). If you're signing in to any other Baltic app, please use the main MFA support page instead: balticexchange.com/en/data-services/support/mfa.html

 

Email MFA (one-time code)

 

When you sign in, we send a one-time code to your email address to confirm it's really you. Here's how to complete it.

 

Step 1 — Sign in

 

Enter your username and password. You'll then see the Verify Your Identity screen, which confirms the email address your code has been sent to.

 

Step 2 — Get your code from your email

 

Open your email inbox and look for the message titled “MFA Code for Baltic Exchange”. Your code is shown inside.

Can't find the email?

●       Check your Junk / Spam folder.

●       Click Resend on the sign-in screen to send a new code.

●       If it still doesn't arrive, contact your internal IT team — they may be blocking the MFA email from reaching your inbox.

 

Step 3 — Enter your code

 

You have 5 minutes to use the code. Type it into the Enter the code box, tick Remember this device for 30 days (optional — this saves you repeating these steps on the same device), then click Continue.

 

Step 4 — If your code expires or doesn't work

 

If you don't enter the code within 5 minutes, or the code is incorrect, you'll see this message:

Click the Didn't receive an email? Resend link to get a fresh code, enter it, then click Continue.

 

Email not verified

 

If your email address hasn't been verified yet, you'll see an Email not verified message on the sign-in page.

 

Step 1 — Open the verification email

 

A verification email has been sent to your inbox. Open it and click either the Verify Your Account button or the verification link.

 

Step 2 — Sign in again

 

After clicking the link you'll be returned to the sign-in page. Sign in again and follow the Email MFA steps above.
