Baltic Exchange and BritCham spotlight practical solutions for vessel efficiency

Baltic Exchange was pleased to host “BritCham Presents: What’s Moving the Needle in Vessel Efficiency” on 11 September at SGX Centre, Singapore.
The invite-only panel, organised in partnership with the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore (BritCham), explored real-world strategies for improving fuel efficiency, cutting emissions, and reducing operating costs across the maritime sector.
Kenneth Lim, Assistant Chief Executive (Industry & Transformation) at the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), opened the event, with Head of Baltic Exchange Asia, Jin Yu Cheong, moderating a dynamic discussion between industry leaders.
Speakers included Ben Richardson, CEO of Sulnox Group, who highlighted how the company’s 100% organic fuel conditioner Sulnox Eco™ is helping ships reduce emissions, protect engines, and deliver fuel savings. Pavlos Karagiannidis, Fleet Optimisation Manager, and Sachin Saharawat, Technical Director at Eastern Pacific Shipping, shared how the solution has been successfully deployed across more than 30 vessels, driving measurable cost and emissions reductions without the need for new infrastructure.
Participants also heard from Rahul Choudhuri, President of Strategic Partnerships at Veritas Petroleum Services, who provided insights into the fuel and emissions landscape and the wider decarbonisation transition.
The event underscored the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in shaping a more efficient and sustainable future for global shipping.
