Customers of Baltic Exchange data are now able to more easily and securely integrate Baltic datasets into their software systems via a newly launched API portal. The simple to use service is compatible with a range of programming languages including Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

The service allows users to choose exactly which routes and assessments they wish to receive via a stable and secure connection.

All Baltic Exchange data and assessments for the dry, tanker, gas, container and air freight sectors is available. This includes forward curves, investor indices and ship operational costs data as well as spot charter and box rates.

The service is straightforward to use and allows users to quickly and easily integrate data into a customised view.

For details of how to use the API please watch the videos below.  These videos explain how to:

· Access and navigate the API portal
· Set up collections of datasets (feeds)
· Connect an Excel file to the API
· Sort the data to enable charts and tables to suit your own requirements

· Use different programming languages to call the data from your own system
· Make use of the download schema, clone, and log features of the portal

Users already using the Baltic Exchange’s FTP feed to receive data who wish to use the new service should contact [email protected] to initiate a switch over. The existing FTP data feed will continue to run in parallel with the new, more flexible API service.

Those users of Baltic data who do not currently integrate our information into their systems can also contact [email protected] to upgrade their subscription and discuss pricing.
