Further to our Circular issued on Monday 2 March 2026, 11/26: Market Announcement – Strait of Hormuz, the Baltic Exchange is issuing the following update.

The escalating situation across the Middle East has continued to develop rapidly, and the conflict now extends across multiple regions and ports throughout the wider Middle East Gulf.  The  disruption to the LPG market is high.  

In line with Section 5.8 of the Guide to Market Benchmarks (GMB), the Baltic hereby gives notice that, until further notice, the BLPG1 route will move to weekly publication, publishing at 1600 UK time on Wednesdays.  

 

BLPG1 LPG Middle East Gulf to Japan 44,000mt, 5% more or less in owner’s option, 1 to 2 grades, fully refrigerated Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Laydays/Cancelling 10/30 days from index date. Middle East Gulf to Japan (Ras Tanura to Chiba). Laytime 96 hrs total. Age max 20 yrs. 1.25% total commission.
