The 2025 Baltic Caledonia St Andrews Day Lunch took place on 28 November at London Scottish House, bringing together 185 guests from across the shipping community. Attendees enjoyed a traditional Scottish menu of smoked salmon, haggis, neaps and tatties, and Scottish cheeses, accompanied by music from the LSH piper.

The lunch was followed by a lively raffle and auction featuring an impressive range of prizes, including fine wines and malt whiskies, holiday stays in Greece and Florida, hospitality tickets for a Premier League match at Crystal Palace, and designer sunglasses by Celia Kritharioti.

Chaired this year by James Palairet of Affinity, the event supported the Tsakos Foundation’s St Nicholas School in Tema, Ghana. The school provides education, uniforms and meals for children from a disadvantaged maritime community, helping to give them a strong start in life.

Members of the Baltic community who wish to sponsor a child or support the school can do so via the St Nicholas School website.

Thanks to the generosity of guests and auction sponsors, including Range Shipping, Poten & Partners, SSY, AM Nomikos (UK) Ltd, Ken Maclean, and Baltic Exchange CEO Mark Jackson, the event raised an outstanding £20,000. A special thanks also goes to Andrew Sterling for modelling auction items on the day.

The Baltic Caledonia St Andrews Day Lunch once again proved to be a memorable celebration of tradition, community and charitable impact.
