Baltic Exchange has begun the search for a new Chief Executive Officer as part of a planned and orderly leadership transition.

Our current CEO Mark Jackson will remain with Baltic Exchange and the incoming CEO will report directly to him. Mark will continue to be an intrinsic part of the Baltic with a broader remit working with the new CEO on the Baltic’s strategic initiatives and product developments. Mark will also continue to represent Baltic Exchange in key shipping and government forums.

This development comes amid the growing significance of freight and transportation data expertise around the world. With more than 40 years of experience in maritime, including more than 20 years with Baltic Exchange, Mark is ideally placed to continue elevating the Baltic Exchange within the wider commodities industry.

We want to reassure that our commitment to our members, panellists, and the wider maritime community remains unchanged as we continue to ensure the Baltic Exchange plays a vital role at the heart of the shipping industry.

This development is a critical step to ensure the Baltic Exchange remains a cornerstone of the freight market industry and will be handled with care, transparency and foresight. We will ensure members are updated on this transition in due course.
