Earlier this month, Jin Yu Cheong, Head of Baltic Exchange Asia, represented Baltic Exchange at the Maritime Leadership Program 2025 (MLP25), held in Singapore from 6-10 October.

An initiative of the Emirates Shipping Association under the patronage of the UAE’s Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, the Maritime Leadership Program is an executive programme designed for change-makers in the UAE maritime industry. The 2025 edition brought together senior leaders, policymakers, and innovators to exchange insights and explore the future of global shipping.

This year’s themes focused on Innovation & Operational Excellence, Decarbonisation & Smart Shipping, Maritime Security & Emergency Preparedness, and Governance & Shipping Finance. During the Insights on Singaporean Market and Finance focused day, Jin delivered a presentation on the history of Baltic Exchange and the role of freight indices in effective risk management.

Baltic Exchange continues to value its strong presence and members in the Middle East and extends its thanks to the Emirates Shipping Association for the invitation to take part in this prestigious programme.
