Rain does not stop the Baltic Exchange Cricket Club

Our inaugral match against the Wine Trade Cricket Club was unfortunately washed out in true British Summertime fashion. The heavens opened before the day had even begun and the decision was made to postpone. A disappointing end to the season, with most itching to have one last bat before the seasons end, but unfortunately a snorker and flippers would have been needed to get out to the middle.
Fear not! The Baltic Exchange Cricket Club always find somewhere to play some cricket so at the last minute a Sixes event was planned for the team. What had started the day as a team event became an individual fight for the “best batsman” at the Baltic.
I write best batsman above in inverted commas as the winner for the day was Mr Dibbly-Dobbly Chris Symes (Clarksons). He scored an impressive 64 runs from his 36 deliveries, no mean feat when playing on the hardest difficulty and with the ball turning sideways.
2nd and 3rd place on the day went to committee members James Harris and Will Bowden. All forming part of the “Dibbly Dobbler” club. Seemingly batting talent is not a necessary feature of scoring highly at Sixes!
