Re: BSPA change of benchmark Supra vessel

As the benchmark Supramax vessel has now switched to a Tess 58, the Baltic will adopt the same vessel type as the reference benchmark Sale & Purchase Supramax vessel, from 1 October 2017.

The following specifications will apply:

Supramax – “Tess 58” type

58,328mt dwt on 12.80m draft SSW built in a Japanese yard – European standard B&W main engine.

LOA 189.99m, Beam 32.26m, 72,360 cbm grain, 5 holds/hatches, 4 x 30mt cranes with 4 x 12cbm grabs.

Not ice-classed. 5 years old. Special Survey passed. Delivery 2-3 months, charter free. 2% total commission.

It will be the intention to keep any benchmark Sale & Purchase vessels in line with other linked Index vessel changes, so when the BPI benchmark vessel switches to the Tess 82, the Baltic will also change the benchmark Sale & Purchase Panamax to the Tess 82, likely expected towards the end of 2018.
