Inge Mitchell celebrated her 90th birthday with a lunch on 14 July with some of her friends and colleagues from the Baltic Exchange and the Worshipful Company of World Traders.

The Danish flag was raised outside the building for her arrival. Inge is originally from Aarhus, Denmark, she came to London after the second world war, where she worked for DFDS as their British publicity manager before joining the Baltic Exchange. 

Inge joined the Baltic Exchange initially to manage the organisation’s media relations and any visiting dignitaries. She has worked tirelessly to promote understanding of the Exchange’s work amongst schools and universities worldwide and until very recently continued to talk to visiting students about its history, trading purpose and the wider maritime industry.
