BCAA in the spotlight at Riveria's International Chemical & Product Tanker Conference

Industry leaders from across the chemical and product tanker sectors gathered at Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London in late April for Riveria's 2025 International Chemical and Product Tanker Conference. The conference was a vital opportunity for shipping players to discuss and explore solutions to critical challenges facing the industry, including decarbonisation strategies, regulatory compliance and leveraging innovation for sustainable growth.
Baltic Exchange was pleased to be invited to speak at the event to showcase its newly launched Baltic Chemical and Agricultural Oil Assessments (BCAA) as a new specialised chemicals index for a sector that increasingly demanding key freight data and benchmarks to tackle the issues impacting the product tanker market. Matthew Cox, Head of Benchmark Production at Baltic Exchange, presented the full range of insights and trade routes for key commodities such as "easy-chemicals", vegetable oil and palm oil. He also spoke about the steps the Baltic Exchange has taken behind the scenes to develop sufficient reference prices for key trade lanes that are traditionally complex. Following his presentation, Matthew joined other industry speakers for an exclusive Q&A on the challenges facing the product tanker markets in 2025 and beyond
We want to thank Riveria for inviting us to this wonderful event and look forward to engaging more with players across the chemical and product tanker sectors as Baltic Exchange looks to fill the gap in existing freight assessments.
