Stuart Mellstrom

Members will learn with deep regret that Stuart Mellstrom passed away peacefully on 25 March 2025 at the Princess Alice Hospice, Esher, Surrey. His wife, Judith, was by his side. He was 92.

His funeral was in Cowes on the Isle of Wight on Tuesday 22 April following a small Family Service at Holy Trinity, Cowes.

He was elected a member of the Baltic Exchange in 1959. He was Chartering Director of Victoria Steamship Company for fifty years until his retirement in 2017. During this time he became a Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers and also of The Institute of Chartered Arbitrators.

There will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday 8 July 2025 at 2.15 pm at St Marys Church, Stoke D’Abernon, Cobham, Surrey KT11 3 PX. There will be tea afterwards in the Church Hall.
