Two teams from Baltic Exchange grabbed their oars and took to the water on 10 September as they took part in the 2026 OSCAR Dragon Boat Race, which brings together teams from across the maritime industry for a day of competition and fundraising in support of the life-changing work carried out by Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

Managing to avoid any of the usual issues related to London weather and traffic, this year's OSCAR Dragon Boat Race was a huge success, with over 20 major maritime companies raising more than £450,000 for GOSH.

For the Baltic, it was another competitive OSCAR Dragon Boat Race. In the opening round, both teams were able to beat the 1:30:00 barrier, with Baltic Exchange I completing the course in 1:23:86 and Baltic Exchange II ending at 1:29:76. Both teams went on to beat their times in the second round (1:22:66 and 1:28:28, respectively), meaning that the Baltic Exchange once again made the final.

In one of the tightest finals in OSCAR Dragon Boat Race history, Baltic managed to secure sixth place, with this year's winners deservedly going to Miller Insurance Services for an outstanding performance.

While the racing was fiercely competitive, the true highlight of the day was being able to support such an important cause. The OSCAR Campaign continues to fund pioneering treatments and vital research for children facing serious illnesses, helping to give more young patients and their families hope for the future.

A huge thank you to everyone who raced, volunteered, attended, and supported the Baltic teams throughout the event. Your enthusiasm and generosity helped make the day a great success.

Our fundraising page remains open and any additional donations would be greatly appreciated. Every contribution, no matter the size, will help support this remarkable cause and make a real difference to children and families in need.
