The stage was set for another thrilling encounter against Lloyds on Thursday 19 June. The sun was shining, the teas were made, the bar was open and the Baltic Exchange won the toss and elected to bowl.

Lloyds found themselves at 8-2 with both of our openers taking a wicket each and only conceedinh 34 runs between them in their 9 overs. The Lloyds middle order were more successful against the Baltic bowling line up with scores of 30, 27 and a match topping 86 from captain Angus Stewart. Lloyds finished their 35 overs on 194/8.

Shenfield Cricket Club, our hosts, put on a fantastic tea before the Baltic Exchange headed into bat. We started in a similar manner to Lloyds with us finding ourselves a man down early on. All our batsmen got a start with scores between 20 and 30 for 5 of the batsmen. The pick of our batsmen being Jack Taylor who scored 45 before being run out. The game came down to the final over, needing 6 to win, the Baltic was level on runs with 4 balls to go. 3rd ball of the over run out, 4th ball of the over run out. Now needing a run to win with scores tied, the Baltic managed to scamper through for a scrappy single giving us our first win over Lloyds for 3 years.

A great game and a great result! We look forward to this fixture next year.
