The 13th edition of the Xinhua-Baltic International Shipping Centre Development Index (ISCDI) was officially launched in Shanghai on 10 July during this year's China Maritime Day Forum. Produced in partnership between Baltic Exchange and Xinhua News Agency, the annual report brings together the latest analysis of the world's leading international shipping centres.

Now in its thirteenth year, the ISCDI provides a comprehensive assessment of 43 international shipping centres, evaluating their performance across port infrastructure, maritime business services and the wider commercial environment. This year's report sees Shanghai rise to second place in the global rankings, while Singapore retains the top position for the thirteenth consecutive year, highlighting the continued strength and evolution of the world's leading maritime centres.

Head of Asia, Jin Yu Cheong, addressed the forum, reflecting on the continued rise of Asia's leading shipping centres and the role of innovation, digitalisation and international cooperation in strengthening the global maritime sector.
