The Baltic Exchange joined the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and Freight Investor Services (FIS) in Shanghai on Friday, 10 July for the seminar “Decoding the Shipping Market: Index Signals and Commodity Logic in Global Changes”, bringing together almost 100 attendees from across the industry.

Opening the event, Jin Yu Cheong, Head of Asia Pacific at Baltic Exchange, welcomed delegates and highlighted the Baltic’s long-standing role in providing trusted, independent freight market benchmarks that support pricing, risk management and commercial decision-making across global shipping markets.

Ying Sun, Baltic Exchange's China Representative, updated attendees on the Exchange's freight index portfolio and explained how its indices provide transparent benchmarks across global freight markets. She also highlighted the continued refinement of Baltic Exchange's methodologies to reflect evolving vessel specifications and trade flows.
