Baltic Exchange supports next generation of shipbroking talent
The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) ASEAN Annual Awards Ceremony took place in Singapore on 31 August, bringing together students, maritime professionals and industry representatives to celebrate outstanding achievement in shipbroking education.
The annual ceremony recognises students from Singapore who have excelled in the shipbroking examinations during the most recent academic year, highlighting the commitment and achievement of those taking the next steps in their maritime careers.
The Baltic Exchange was proud to continue its long-standing support of the ICS and sponsor the Introduction to Shipping award. This year’s award was presented to Tsun Ming Cheung, a senior automation engineer in the oil and gas industry, in recognition of his achievement in the examination. Tsun Ming also received the Offshore Support Industry award during the evening.
Representing the Baltic Exchange at the ceremony were Dmitry Pismenny, Associate Director, Sales, APAC; You Ren, Associate Director, Sales, APAC; and Szu Ker, Associate Director, Escrow Services. Dmitry presented the Introduction to Shipping award on behalf of the Baltic.
The evening provided an opportunity to recognise the achievements of students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to education and professional development, while also highlighting the importance of investing in new talent and supporting the next generation of maritime professionals.
