BEISL successfully received its regulatory authorisation as a Benchmark Administrator from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on 2 March 2020. Following the UK’s departure from the European Union on 31 December 2020, the UK now has a parallel regime, the UK Benchmarks Regulation (UK BMR), and BEISL now operates within the remit of the UK BMR regulated by the FCA and in accordance with IOSCO Principles for Financial Benchmarks. The EU third country transitional provisions allow for the continued provision of benchmarks administered by BEISL to EU users up until 31 December 2023.
